Buyer's Guide: Testors Spray Paint

Testors Spray Paint

The history of the Testors brand began in 1931, when a carpenter and drafter in New York City discovered that it was easier than ever to paint his wood. At first he used hangers made of fabric. Later, he discovered that the best way to paint his wood without splatter or drips was to use paint strips. He created two popular products for the new era of paint application. Today, the company continues to produce high quality products with an innovative approach to design.

America's most recognized product, America's best kept secret, is of course the Testors Spray Paint. For decades, the name has been synonymous with quality paint and art. America's core product line, America has grown up with ies, dot, and crosses. The world's greatest secret is that you could use your old favorite shirt, to create a perfect enamel on metal, leather, vinyl and enamel trim. In fact, I'm sure that every product in your closet could use a little Tacet, too.

If your favorite shirt is almost as faded as the day that it was first washed, you may want to think about giving it a little Tacet before you decide to throw it out. While Tacet is not always easy to find, you will be able to find it. If you have an old shirt that has developed some small yellow dots, you could use it to help restore your tarnished enamel. Even if you have had a car wash, you may have neglected to clean your vinyl seats. This is why you should consider adding Tacet to your testors spray paint.

Another important item in your garage or tool box could be a set of thinners. These tools are especially handy for primers and urethane. Primer needs to be thinned before it is added to any paint project. You can purchase premixed thinners at most art supply stores. Be sure to choose the correct one for your particular hobby and brand of testors paint.

A bottle opener is probably another thing that you no longer use, but may be vital to your hobby. My grandfather's tool box contained an awesomely useful quart of this plastic stuff. I used to take my beer along with me whenever I went anywhere, and would sometimes forget my paint when I went home. I can't imagine going anywhere today without my pint. If you are someone who works at an office that receives hundreds of cans of soda a year, you should keep a few of these around to open bottles during your breaks.

A couple of cans of these aerosol cans are great for covering up your stain if you accidentally spill your paint on the floor. The Master Aluminum Oxide in the sprayer helps to protect floors and furniture from permanent staining, and is non-toxic. This product is available as an airless sprayer or an aerosol can. Another great feature of these cans is that they will not degrade over time. This means that if you want to refill a can, it can last you a long time.

A large container to hold your testors crafts painting supplies, and a pair of tongs are also essential to keep handy. I love my Testors crafts portable art easel because it keeps everything organized. I can easily find acrylic paints, pencils, and reference material for each of my hobbies. I have a bottle of Testors Spray Paint and a bottle of acrylic paint so I always have something fresh and ready to use. I can't imagine using anything else but these two products.
