This type of testex is a small hand held instrument that is used to measure the thickness of a surface by emitting electromagnetic waves. The results are shown as color coded dots and patterns. This is a replica tape measure that measures a very small sample. A thin sample can be easily measured using this. To measure profile, a larger profile is laid on the testex, followed by a series of thinned-out copies. After the first copy is removed, the original sample can be laid onto the replica tape. As the sample wears, it will show wear patterns that are copied onto the surface of the Testex.
The testex has a maximum peak-to valley variation along the length of the blade. A typical testex includes a blade with a flat spot, which when swept back and forth along the length of the blade will show the characteristics of the material being tested. On the other hand, many large manufacturers require the testex to be used in the final production process to ensure that the cloth texture and the chemical properties of the final product meet specifications set forth by the manufacturer. It is very important that these final qualities be determined early on, prior to manufacturing, to insure that the finished product will conform to standards set forth by the customer.
Testex tester prices vary according to size, material and thickness. For example, a four.5 mils thick piece of cotton requires a different price than a two.5 mils piece of cotton. Some Testex products are sold without any attachment to another material and are made of special polymer that adheres itself to a particular material.
Testex makes many more different shapes than they do just cotton tester sprays. For example, there are many different shapes of Testex fabric with different gauge. The next grade on the Testex spectrum is known as X-Ribbed. Each specific type of Testex fabric has a specific number of ribbing strands that are made to attach the uppermost fibers. Each of the strands is made of a cross-section of the fibers. This means that each fiber has been cut into fourteen layers.
The quality of each fiber's cross-section is what determines the level of roughness that will be visible on the surface of the Testex Dye Test. The roughness is measured in numbers like hundredths of an inch, tens of an inch, and thousandths of an inch. The greater the number of hundredths of an inch, the lesser the roughness of the surface of the Testex Dye Test. The Tens of an Inch, or Fine Grade, is what is used to judge the quality of the surface of the Testex replica shirts.
