Buyer's Guide: Swab Drug Test

How to Pass a Mouth Swab Drug Test

A swab test is one of several types of drug testing kits used by pharmacists. This type of kit provides information on the amount of a drug that has been put into a patient's mouth. It also tests for contaminants in the patient's blood and/or other bodily fluids. An absorbent strip or small swab is used to detect the amount of a patient's blood or other bodily fluid taken from the mouth. Often times the absorbent test is performed on a patient who is at the dentist for a teeth cleaning.

Most clinics that perform these tests will use an oral fluid testing kit called a dipstick. An absorbent strip or small swab is used to detect the amount of a patient's blood or other bodily fluid taken from the mouth. These tests are often the first step for a pharmacist to perform, as most pharmacies do not offer a free urine or saliva drug test. The kits used at clinics are generally more sensitive than those used in hospitals, although there is currently a trend to automate these tests.

For many years, the only way to ensure that a patient who presented with a complaint of chronic pain or illness had consumed cannabis was to perform a urine test. While this simple test could accurately detect whether a patient was under the influence of cannabis, it relied on the patient's word or the police having made their investigation. For this reason, many people falsely confessed to having smoked cannabis even when they were not. Today, there are several reliable home drug tests that can identify the presence of cannabis.

Two specific types of drug testing that rely on a patient's statement are currently offered by various clinics and private employers. In a private employer drug test, an employee is asked to voluntarily give a sample of their blood in a drug test kit. Based on the results, the doctor of record can determine whether or not the patient is infected with a communicable disease, to which they may be exposed when using medical equipment at a hospital or health care facility. These kits have been approved by the Food and Drug Administration, and are typically distributed to local hospitals and clinics upon request.

Another type of private drug testing comes in the form of oral fluid sample tests. These saliva drug tests are used by private employers to screen their employees for illicit substance use. The urine and saliva tests work by separating the tested substance from the recipient's blood, fluid sample or urine. Based on the results of the test, a doctor can determine if a substance is positive for drug use.

There are also oral fluid collection kits available for purchase that utilize a swab for collection. The liquids are then analyzed for various substances, including marijuana, cocaine and methamphetamines. Depending on the clinic or private employer, some testing may be done without a sample. This is common when a patient has multiple substances, or when they refuse to give a saliva or urine drug test.

Some individuals have tried using a mixture of lemon juice and goldenseal to pass a drug test. A mixture of a teaspoon of salt and a small glass of water was found to be nearly six times as effective as a teaspoon of powdered goldenseal. A more recent experiment showed that a solution of apple cider vinegar and hydrogen peroxide was just as effective at removing certain contaminants from a swab sample. Testing was conducted using samples taken from the inside of a suspect's mouth, as well as from the inside of a suspect's tooth.

To learn more about how to pass a mouth swab drug test, contact a drug test lawyer. A reputable attorney can help you understand your rights and fight for your innocence. While it is true that police officers can generally rely on a suspects' blood-to-blood test to catch them, there are many ways to legally prove possession of illegal substances without a sample. In most states, a defendant has 30 days to show a legitimate justification for the presence of drugs in a specific substance. It is up to the attorney to show the court that a defendant has a legitimate need to defend against the charges.
