Saliva Drug Test Kit (SALT kit) is a disposable drug test used to measure levels of drugs in the human body. Depending upon the kind of drug (s) and/or drug overdose levels, saliva drug test results for drug abuse may range from six hours to one week. Most often, police or security personnel carry out drug testing during an arrest. This helps them detect illegal substances that the suspect might have been ingesting. This kind of kit has been approved by the FDA.
The SALT kit comes with three parts: collection of sample, preparation of sample and analysis of the collected sample. Samples are collected through the mouth using a collection device that is similar to the ones used for blood samples. A special collection vial called the speculum is then used to collect the saliva. There is also a laboratory reagent called the dipstick that is used to determine the drug concentration. The kit also comes with a storage case and blister pack.
The main feature of the SALT kit is its ability to give fast results. Its rapid analytical procedure allows for quick analysis of a small amount of blood or any other kind of sample. This is one of the reasons why it has become a favorite Forensic use. This is also the reason why the SALT test has been adopted by police departments across the United States.
Saliva and oral fluid are the two basic forms of drug excretion. A blood sample is extracted through a blood draw. A sample of the oral fluid is then extracted through the mouth using a swab. Both of these sample types can be tested using a saliva and oral fluid drug test. In recent years, a third type of saliva and oral fluid drug test was developed and introduced in the market.
Saliva drug test kits can be used for a number of purposes. When used for a forensic use, it will provide faster and more accurate results compared to other methods. Saliva is the first major component in the body that shows the presence of drugs in the blood stream. It acts as a magnet for the drug particles and brings them into the bloodstream. Through the analysis of the oral fluid, it is possible to determine the concentration of drugs present in the body.
It is important to remember that there are some restrictions when it comes to the testing of Saliva. The test can only be performed within three days after the end of the last urination. This is necessary because of the effect that saliva has on the blood vessels of the body. Saliva can be collected three days after the last food intake as well as from the first few sips of water. If the drug detection procedure is done within the period of three days, then the tester will have to wait for more than two weeks for the sample to be processed.
The Saliva Drug Test Kit can also be used to test for synthetic marijuana. This substance is a controlled substance and can only be lawfully sold through pharmacies. There are no regulations whatsoever with regards to how it should be distributed and used. Therefore, it is quite easy for someone to get hold of a Saliva Test Kit and sell it to unsuspecting consumers. The saliva samples that are tested in this manner must be collected within three days after the last known consuming of synthetic marijuana.
In order for Saliva drug detection kits to be effective, the consumer must follow all of the necessary procedures. The tester will need to collect the fluid drug testing samples in a sterile environment. These samples will then need to undergo analysis within three hours.
