Buyer's Guide: Pool Ph Testers

Pool Ph Testers

Pool Ph Testers are critical tools that you need to know about when it comes to maintaining your pool water. Your pool should always be a refreshing, fun place for you and your family to cool off in the summer heat, splash about with friends and family or receive some underwater exercise in the summer. However, if your pool's pH level is off balance, then the water can be even less pleasant to swim in and can have a negative impact on your swimming pool equipment. There are several ways to check the pH level of your pool water.

The easiest way to test the pH level in your pool water is by using pool testing equipment. There are portable, on-site pool testing devices that come with sensors for reading pH levels. Most of these pH level testers have batteries so that you will be able to use them until your pool test results are back.

Another way to check the pH level of your pool water is to make a simple homemade test by adding one teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate to 2 liters of water. Add the test sample to your pool and wait for the color to develop. If the test is brown or black, then you have found that your pool's pH levels are out of balance. This means that you should add more sodium bicarbonate to your pool water. You may also want to add chemicals such as chlorine and other chemical substances that lower the pH level in your pool.

You can also use automatic pool testing equipment called a pH and ECG meter to determine the pH level in your pool water. This type of test is usually used for larger pools that must be frequently tested to keep them maintained. You can place the meters in different parts of your pool and remotely monitor their pH level readings. However, this type of test requires a separate, hand-held battery pack and is not portable. The other disadvantage is that it costs an additional $40.

You can also buy automatic pool test kits that can be used by yourself or your employees to check the pH levels and the alkalinity of the water. The kit includes special chemical compounds that kill algae and reduce their numbers in the water. However, this method does not deal with the cause of algal bloom, so you may have to add more chemicals to your pool in order to stop algae from growing.

You can also purchase automatic pool tester kits for home use that do not require any form of power source. These kits are usually portable and have an indicator that shows the amount of chlorine, ammonia and other chemicals in the pool. The advantage of these types of pool testing kits is that you can use them anytime without worrying about batteries. However, you must have someone come to your house and set up the device before using it. These swimming pool testers are also available in stores.

There are also remote control or push button pool testers that can be easily installed and operate on your own. There are also hand crank or motorized devices that need a pump to function. However, these test kits cannot test the pH level of the water. The pH testers are available for purchase in stores and in some home improvement stores.

You can purchase pH and chlorine level strips for checking the alkalinity and the acidity of the water at the same time. However, it does not test the balance of the chemicals in the pool. The pH strips can be placed inside the pool for fifteen minutes and then removed for five minutes to allow complete assessment of the pH level. However, these strips are inaccurate and will not give you an accurate reading.
