Buyer's Guide: Food Allergy Test Kit

Food Allergy Test Kit Reviews

You may be wondering if it's possible to administer a food allergen test to your pet, especially if you're concerned about possible food allergy. A lot of people are. But the answer isn't always "yes." Sometimes it can be difficult to diagnose your dog's allergies accurately. Yes, you can test your dog for a myriad of food allergies and related sensitivities in the privacy of your own home using an at-home dog food allergy test kit, but that doesn't mean that you can be sure that your dog is truly allergic to the food in question. This article only touches on everything regarding dog food allergy tests (which vary widely according to quality, accuracy, cost, etc), but describe how these tests function, why they're important, and what to look for when diagnosing dog food allergy.

Food allergies in dogs can be similar to human food allergies in that they often manifest as extreme itching, watering at the mouth, and hives. Another symptom is excessive licking, which can also lead to infection and bleeding of the coat. However, some of these symptoms are similar to symptoms of other diseases or illnesses, so it's not always definite that your dog is allergic to something. You'll have to do some testing first to rule out other potential diseases or illnesses.

When a dog is diagnosed with atopy dermatitis or seasonal allergies, he will likely be referred to a vet who specializes in dogs. He'll perform a series of tests to rule out viral, bacterial, fungal or food-allergic reactions. These tests may include skin scrape, patch tests, blood test, EIA, or RFLP.

Food allergies in dogs are diagnosed using a saliva sample. The saliva samples are collected at two weeks of age or older, depending on the severity of the reaction. One week of urine will not show results. This test is less precise than the RFLP, but it's easier to do, and it doesn't take as long.

Food allergies testing is performed by diluting the standard solution (listed above) with tap water and serving it to your pet. Your pet's symptoms will disappear if he cannot consume the diluted solution. You should record the test results on your pet's health report or health card. You should also include the name of the allergist who performed the allergy testing. The best value for your money is to get the allergy testing done by an independent laboratory so you don't have to pay an arm and a leg.

Bioresonance technology provides a variety of services to pet owners with food allergy testing. The technicians are highly trained to perform allergy testing for both dogs and cats. They have the latest equipment and can perform all tests quickly and easily. If there are environmental allergens present in your home, the bioresonance technicians can remove these allergens and return your pet to healthy, normal skin and coat. If there are specific breeds of dog, the technicians are able to determine which type of dog is affected.

There are several types of nutriscan allergy testing kits available on the market. The nutriscan allergy tests for dogs can be used to identify specific allergen sources, specific ingredients, or to confirm positive skin and gastrointestinal contact. Several companies provide nutriscan allergy tests for both cats and dogs. The kit for cats has different levels of sensitivity based on different species of cat. The highest level of sensitivity is around twenty times stronger than for a dog.

Another type of allergy testing kits includes the environmental allergy test kits. These kits are used to identify environmental allergens that can cause skin problems and other health conditions. Some of the factors common in the environment that can trigger allergic reactions are dust mites, mold, spores, pollen, smoke, cold air, chemicals, and food. You can also request an immunotherapy allergy test to get your pet to eliminate the immune system's fear of the allergen. This immunotherapy allergy tests is usually performed on animals at the veterinary clinic. Sometimes, the test can be done at home.
