Buyer's Guide: Everly Food Sensitivity Test

Everly Food Sensitivity Test

Everly Food Sensitivity Test is one of the most used food sensitivity test kits. The Everly Company claims that their brand is ideal for sensitive people who are allergic to certain foods. They also claim that this brand is designed to give protection from food allergy and chronic intolerance reactions. The brand is manufactured by Alli and is available at various health food stores and supermarkets. However, the test does not work in all cases.

The Everly Food Sensitivity Test can be utilized to assess the sensitivities of the customer's reaction to 96 foods. Each of these foods has a letter rating ranging from one to five. The higher the number, the more sensitive the particular food will be. This particular allergy test can assess a variety of allergies such as; peanut, shellfish, dairy, corn, egg, soy, wheat, fish, tomato, onion, berries, citrus, lemons, grapes and peaches.

Each of these categories of foods was selected based on the results of clinical studies and the level of allergic reaction reported by different consumers. The Everly Food Sensitivity Test was designed to determine the highest possible sensitivities. According to Everly, each of the 96 foods can be ranked into three groups based on the level of an individual's immune response.

The categories range from one to five and the higher the number, the lower the allergic reaction. A higher number means that the individual is highly allergic to that food category. The researchers chose two main categories and assigned four different sets of numbers to them, where one was lower than the other two. The Everly Food Sensitivity Test was conducted in correlation with the Symptoms and Criteria of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual IV (DSC IV).

One set of tests measured the individual's ability to identify all different foods based on presentation. The results showed that a high number of individuals correctly identified all of the different foods. For example, there were one hundred and seventy-four individuals out of a sample of six hundred who correctly identified which foods were peanut butter and which were corn. The researchers further determined that this particular test accurately measures the level of specific foods' allergy potential, whereas the more universal allergy test measures the level of general sensitivity.

An additional set of tests measured individuals' reactions to different foods while they were in a relaxed state. This test group also proved to have relatively low levels of allergy, based on their results. The final set of allergy tests measured the individual's level of sensitivity to different foods based on their reaction to each individual's saliva. In a lab environment, employees are provided with specific foods to consume for a short period of time. Throughout this time, the employee is instructed to consume only those foods that they are allergic to. If they are unable to tolerate the food, they are asked to skip it.

The Everly Food Sensitivity Test measures a person's level of allergic reaction to different foods based on how they feel while consuming them. For example, the test measures how the individual responds to being exposed to dairy products. If they are sensitive to dairy products, they are asked to complete the test. In addition to the Everly Food Sensitivity Test, there is a skin test given to individuals who want to prove they are sensitive to different foods and even allergens. The results of this test can also be used for other purposes such as determining if a person has allergies to particular drugs, skin care products and even food.

The laboratory environment offers a more accurate means of measuring a person's levels of at-home immune response towards different foods, allergens and drugs. However, most allergy testing procedures cannot measure the level of allergic reaction towards foods and other substances because their reaction is not considered a typical allergy. Most allergy testing only measures the level of IgE antibodies at home after exposure to a specific allergen. Although IgE is usually considered one of the most important components towards a person's at-home food sensitivity test results, it can be difficult to determine if a person is allergic to dairy products, fish, garlic, wheat, soy, corn, eggs or any other type of common food substance. The IgE antibody test, therefore, is not able to determine allergens like wheat, milk and fish.
