Buyer's Guide: Embark Health Test

Embark Health  Test

When most people think of the term canine health insuranceshow they think of the animal testing kits that are used for genetic dog ancestry tests. Embark Health provides a number of DNA dog breeds to their customers. These include breeds such as Whippet, Alaskan Malamute, Basset Hound, Golden Retriever, Dalmatian, Poodle, Saint Bernard and Toy Poodle. The company was started in 1998 with a mission to provide pet owners with a convenient and reliable method of genetic ancestry testing for dogs.

A dog DNA test uses a sample of DNA from one or more biological grandparents of a dog. This sample is then collected and compared to samples found in various historical databases to determine whether genetic relatedness is present. Most companies allow for the generation of numerous dna test samples from one or more breed representatives. In most cases the desired sample can be submitted to the company and results can be received in just a few days. Typically, breeders can purchase a variety of different health conditions and diseases from Embark in order to generate a full DNA report on their breeding stock.

The goal of this service is to provide consumers with the most complete genetic health conditions and information possible for each dog breed available through their website. Customers must first complete an online application, which is reviewed by a professional geneticist. Once all the information is reviewed and analyzed, the client will be sent a link to one or more of the genetic health condition information samples they can choose from. Customers must then pay for the report and send it back to the company through the mail.

Because the company works with breeders to generate these reports, they are always very detailed and comprehensive. This includes everything from height, coat color, eye color, obesity, health risks, genetic history, breeding history and any other health risks that might be associated with your particular dog. For example, many breeds of dog have a higher incidence of hip dysplasia than other breeds, but none of them have been proven to be linked to the development of bone cancer. However, both the AKC and CERF dog shows require dogs to undergo a hip dysplasia examination. An Embark health risk report will contain all the details needed to determine if your dog has this condition.

Another important feature is that every animal that comes through the doors of the clinic needs to be fully immunized. Even though your pet may not have an immediate need for vaccination, an annual dose of vaccinations is necessary to avoid the spread of disease. This is especially important for anyone who plans on breeding animals. Some genetic disorders will pass along their disease to the animals that come from the same breeding pair. A complete Embark health risk report will include detailed information about any vaccinations and other inoculations that the animal has received during his or her lifetime.

There are a number of different Embark health tests that are available. One of the most in-depth is the Complete Animal Genome Sequencing test. This will provide a detailed report about the genetic makeup of the animal. It will highlight anything that could cause a serious health problem. For example, a certain gene associated with heart disease may show signs of disease even if the dog has had no previous history of heart disease.

The Complete Animal DNA (AIDS) test is another useful tool that the clinic will use. This test will look for evidence of genetic diseases associated with AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases. Since every breed is susceptible to at least one genetic disorder, it is important to have a sample of the semen from each dog to perform a canine blood test. This is considered one of the most thorough and reliable tests available for genetic health risks.

It is very important that a technician who administers these dog DNA tests be very familiar with the breed of dog as well as the particular canine they are testing. It is not enough for the technician to know the breed of the dog. They must also know how a dog behaves in specific situations and their general habits. Because some genetic health conditions can be more prevalent in certain breeds of dogs, an experienced technician is essential for ensuring that all the requisite tests are performed correctly and the results are accurate.
