Buyer's Guide: Alcohol Test Strips

Alcohol Test Strips and Your DUI Accident Lawyer

Alcohol Test Strips come in many shapes and sizes. They are also used in many different ways. It is essential to know which method of testing your alcohol that is chosen will be accurate. Many of these products come with a guarantee of up to a year. Below are some tips on how to buy and use these products.

Most kits available for purchase come with either a cotton ball or swab. The type you choose should depend upon whether you are trying to determine your alcohol level by a breath test, an eyeball test or an oral fluid test. You can use the same method across all of these methods. Alcohol Test Strips with swabs generally provide the best results. The saliva test strips, however, can often provide higher accuracy results.

Some alcohol testing products are designed to detect a specific kind of BAC. The most highly sensitive BAC test strips to detect alcohol only have a paper strip within the mouthpiece. The paper strip is then applied to the inside of the eye and it is there for the professional to detect. The most highly sensitive test strips to detect alcohol only have a paper strip within the mouthpiece. The paper strip is then applied to the inside of the eye and it is there for the professional to detect.

These highly sensitive alcohol test strips have two modes. First, there is the mode that is used to determine blood alcohol concentrations. In this mode, the test strips will display a series of three black and white lines. Once these lines appear, the concentration of alcohol in your blood can be determined. This mode is recommended for use with people who may be at risk for developing blood alcohol concentrations that are too high.

The other mode in which these types of breathalyzer test strips measure alcohol is with a saliva test strip. With a saliva test strip, the professional is able to determine the percentage of alcohol in your system. There are two methods for measuring your BAC using these saliva test strips. One method is where the strip is swabbed on the inside of your mouth. The other method is where the strip is dipped in your mouth and then held up to the light to show results.

Both of the above mentioned methods will use approximately equivalent amounts of BAC. The only difference between the two methods is how the test strips calculate your approximate relative blood alcohol concentration (ARB) based on the amount of BAC in your system at the time you completed a task. If you only have a small amount of alcohol in your system, you may not have a high BAC. Therefore, your accuracy with these alcohol test strip measurements may be reduced.

The next type of alcohol consumption testing method is with the use of breathalyzer test strips. Breathalyzer test strips can be used in combination with a positive oral fluid drug screen. These test strips give a reading of the percentage of the booze in your system, but don't provide any information about the amount of intoxication. Breathalyzer test strips can be used by anyone, but must be approved by the manufacturer. Also, because they rely on the fact that alcohol flows through your blood stream and passes through your lungs, the amount of alcohol in your system when you have consumed a few alcoholic beverages is difficult to ascertain.

Breathalyzer and BAC testing kits are obtainable at many different retailers, as well as online. Some online retailers offer deals where you can get more than one product for the price of just one. Also, online retailers can provide you with the widest variety of selection and the best prices. By following a few simple guidelines, you can ensure that you get accurate test results from your alcohol screening test strips.
